Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of theGuangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region announced the “Notice offour Guangxi’s four departments includingthe Department of Science and Technology/Department of Organization of the Party Committee/Industry and InformationTechnologyDepartment/Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the Announcement of the List ofThe 2023Guangxi Innovation Associations”, which approves the formation of six autonomous region innovationassociations, namely, “Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Green Chemical and New Material InnovationAssociation”,“Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Manganese Industry InnovationAssociation”,“Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region High-Efficiency Energy-Saving and Environmentally Friendly Power Equipment InnovationAssociation”,“Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Pig Breeding and Intelligent Breeding InnovationAssociation”, “Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Quality ChickenandModernBreedingIndustry InnovationAssociation”, and “Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Green Intelligent and Efficient Excavator Industry InnovationAssociation”. Guangxi University is the only university participating in the construction of all six new innovationassociations. The approval of the six innovationassociations not only reflects the university’s scientific researchabilityin serving Guangxi’s traditional characteristic advantageous industries, strategic emerging industries and future industries, but also provides a larger platform for the university to take root inGuangxiand integrate into the local development, to promote the in-depth fusion of industry, academia and research, and to solve the key technology problems.

It is reported that the innovationassociationstake aim ofsolvingthe keytechnology problems constraining industrial development,undertake major scientific and technological projects as the main task,and regardthe market mechanism as a linkunder the rule ofvoluntarismandspontaneousorganization.The innovationassociations areled bythe industry’s leadingkeyenterpriseswithstronginnovation resources integration capacity.The member units will divide the work and form a systematic and task-oriented innovation cooperationorganizationand community of interests with “core layer + close cooperation layer + general cooperation layer”, and with the participation of enterprises upstream and downstream in the industry chain, colleges and universities, and scientific research institutes.
