On July 7, the first New Energy Automotive Development Forum was held in Guangxi University. Wang Naixue, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional CPPCC and Secretary of theGuangxi UniversityCPC Committee,met withProfessor Chen Qingquan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Member ofthe British Royal Academy of Engineering. Participants attending this forumincluded Professor Chen Yong,foreign academician of the Russian Academy of EngineeringfromSchool of Mechanical Engineering , Zhu Qidong, Vice Chairman of the Association of Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 10 top experts and scholars in the field of new energy automobile at home and abroadfromHong Kong University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, and representatives of outstanding new energyautomobile enterprises in Guangxi, such as Guangxi Yuchai, GAC Group. Professor Xiao Jianzhuang, vice president of Guangxi University, delivered an opening speech and issued appointment letters to members of the Academic Committee and Technical Committee of the New Energy Automotive Research Center of Guangxi University.

Professor Xiao Jianzhuangmentioned that Guangxi University would use its own advantages in scientific and technological research to promote the development of new energy automobile. He hoped that this forum could strengthen cooperation between academia and industry.

At the forum on advanced power system technology of new energy automobile, Academician Chen Qingquan delivered a report entitled "Innovation of electric drive in new energyautomotive". He stated that scholars should designate directions for enterprises from a macro perspective and use theIntelligent Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperative Systems(IVICS)to promote the development of new energy automotive drive systems. He also mentioned that researchers should have forward-looking and humanistic thinking, and grasp the development direction of the automotive industry from an international perspective.

During the forum, the seminar on high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry in Guangxi and the first meeting of the Academic Committee of the New EnergyAutomotiveResearch Center of Guangxi University were also held.Mr.Zhu Qidongraised earnest expectations for high-quality development of Guangxi's new energyautomobileindustry and emphasized that academic conferences should play an important role in cultivating innovative talents and promoting the development of industry, academia, and research.ProfessorXiao Jianzhuang pointed out that Guangxi University attaches great importance to the development of new energy vehicles, will continue supportingconstruction of related disciplines and the research, strive to promote the deep integration of new energy automotive technology research and industrial application with the goal of achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

The forum was hosted by the New Energy Automotive Research CenterofGuangxi University and the School of Mechanical Engineering of Guangxi University. It was conducted simultaneously offlineandonline. More than 300 teachers and students attended the meeting, along with more than 75000 online participants.
