GXU Attends YOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITY in Beijing

On May7th, an activity on the theme ofYOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITYwas held in Beijing, led byContemporary Worldunder theInternationalDepartmentofCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). MinisterLiu Jianchao delivered a speechatthe event,withnearly 200 representatives from the central and state organs, Chinesehigh institutions,foreignenvoys and students in China participatingin the event. Prof. Dr. Xiao Jianzhuang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi University Committee and Vice President ofthe University, was invited to attend the event.

Bustling with excitement, Chinese and foreign guests visited the exhibition of outstanding written works, and representatives of Chinese and foreign youth performed musical instruments, songs, dances, poetry recitations, martial arts and other talents. Tian Yunyan, Associate Professor of the School of Artsof GXU, and Ryan Alexander Berg, an American student who learns Chinesein theInternational Schoolof GXU, attendedthe event as representatives and performedthe songMy Motherland and Me, which was warmly received by the audience.

Liu Jianchao and the relevant comrades also presented certificates toaward-winning representativesin the written exhibition onsite. GXUwon theExcellent Organisation Award, with Tsinghua University, Peking University and other colleges and universities to become the 12 excellent organizers. On behalf of GXU, Vice President Xiao Jianzhuang accepted the certificate issued by Liu Jianchao.

YOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITYwas jointly sponsored bytheInternationalDepartmentofCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC),Contemporary Worldand Guangxi University, and was held from April to December in 2023, with a total of 5,018 entries includingessays, paintings, calligraphy and seal cutting, photos and stories behind the worksfrom young people of 65 countries. Three first prizes, six second prizes and 15 third prizes were awarded for the works. International students from GXUparticipated enthusiastically in this activity and their works won one first prize, three second prizes and seven third prizesrespectively, which were exhibited at the venue of the event and were highly praised.
