On November 21^st, Kitti Satjawattana, Director of the ThailandRegional Development Project Management Agency, accompanied by Miss Pasupha Chinvarasopak, Minister Counselorofthe Embassyof Thailandin China,led avisitingdelegation to Guangxi Universityforinvestigation andresearch. Thesymposiumwas chaired by Li Guozhong, Secretary of the CPC GXU Committee, with Xiao Jianzhuang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC GXU Committee and Vice President of GXU, attending the symposium.

Li Guozhong extendedhis welcome to the delegation, stating that universities play an importantrole in the battle against poverty. As a vanguardof higher education in Guangxi, Guangxi University adheres to the political responsibility of promoting stable poverty alleviation and rural revitalization in poverty-stricken areas.With the goal of facilitating precise poverty alleviation and sustainable development in impoverished regions,itfully leveragestheadvantagesofuniversity resources. Guangxi University is very willing to share the experience and scientific research achievements gained in poverty reduction practice with Thai experts. Hehopedthat the Thailand Regional Development Project Management Agency can act as a bridge between Guangxi University and Thai universities, think tanks, and research institutions to promote education and research cooperation between China and Thailand.

Kitti Satjawattanaexpressed his gratitude for the reception of our university and his hope to learn advanced knowledge and experience during the investigation and research at Guangxi University, which could be applied to poverty reduction work in Thailand in the future. At the same time, he hoped to strengthen communication and cooperation with Guangxi University to promote the coordinated development of the two countries in related fields.

Miss Pasupha Chinvarasopak briefly reviewed the history of cooperation between the ThailandRegional Development Project Management Agency andouruniversity, noting that the two sides have always enjoyed collaboration andcooperation. In January of this year, in Changwat Kalasin,Thailand, the two sides shared their knowledge in the poverty reduction field, and signed a memorandum of cooperation. Thepurpose of thevisiting delegationwasto gain a deeper understanding of the poverty reduction work carried out by Guangxi University, accumulate valuable experience from itand continue to implement the China-Thailand poverty reduction cooperation project.

Xiao Jianzhuangprovideda detailed introduction to the measures taken, roles played andachievements made by GXU in poverty reductionworkin Guangxi.

After the research had been shared and presented, thedelegationaccompanied by Xiao Jianzhuang,went toGXUAgricultural Science New City for on-site investigation, to understand the actual situation of our school's full targeting of poverty-stricken areas, strengtheningthe promotion and popularization of scientific and technological innovation and advanced production technology, as well aspromotingthe sustainable development of poverty-stricken areas.
