On June 7th, SOK Touch, President of the Royal Academy of Cambodia(RAC)andhis delegation visitedGuangxi University(GXU)accompanied by TAING Sokngorn, Consul Generalof Cambodia in Nanning, and Yang Bin, Chairman of Jinshan High-tech Group. Dr.Xiao Jianzhuang,Member of the Standing Committee of theCPCGXU Committee and Vice President of GXU, attended themeeting.

Vice PresidentXiao Jianzhuang briefly introducedGXU’shistory,construction ofdisciplines,developmentof ASEAN students,nationalkeylaboratories, and participation in national and world major projects.XiaohighlightedGXU’s world-class disciplinedevelopmentinCivilEngineering as the leading force,so as tosupport the national strategy with high-quality talent cultivation and scientific research achievements.He also emphasized that GXU practicesthe concept of green and low-carbon developmenttofacilitatethebuildingof the Pinglu Canaland has setup sixdisciplineclusters and large platformsbased onGXU’sstrengthsandfeatures.Xiaostated thatas2024 is the Year of China-Cambodia People-to-People Exchanges, GXUattaches great importance to cooperatingwith theRAC, hoping to provide assistance in talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services to Cambodia,thusworking together to createabetterfuture for the China-Cambodia community with a shared future inthenewera.

SOK Touchgave a detailed introduction toRAC’scurrent research development,buildingof Confucius Institutes, cooperation with Chinese universities, andthenational development and constructionofCambodia. He pointed out thatRAC,established in 1965,is thetopacademic institution in Cambodia,responsible for scientific research and academic exchanges and provides intellectual support for Cambodia's social progress and economic development. The research fields of theRACcover natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, as well as Cambodian history, culture, and language. Healsoexpressed his hopeto sign a cooperation agreement withGXUas soon as possible to engage in scientific researchcooperationin areas such as green canals, ecological protection, and agricultural breedingtopromote the construction of joint research centers or laboratories,thuscontributingto the cultivation of high-level talents worldwide.

SOKand his delegation alsotoured thecampus and visitedthe large structural testing and research platform of the School of CivilEngineeringand Architecture, gaining a comprehensive understandingofthedevelopmentofGXU's "Double First-Class"construction.

The meeting was alsoattendedby heads ofthe Instituteof Scientific Research,InternationalCooperation andExchangeDepartment,the School of CivilEngineering and Architecture,the School of LifeSciences andTechnology,the School of Agriculture, the School of Literature,the School of the Arts,and otherschools and departments concerned.
