Up to December 2022, the collection of Guangxi University Library totaled 5,245,400 volumes, 3,720,000 e-books, 9,880,000 dissertations, 260,000 hours of audio and video, 56,000 full-text electronic journals, and 206 large-scale databases. It boasts renowned domestic and international academic databases, such as Elsevier, WOS, Scifinder, IEL, Wiley, Springer, EBSCO, EI, Nature, Science, SAGE, CNKI, Wanfang, Super Star, etc. It has formed a multidisciplinary, multilevel, multicarrier and distinctive collection system covering thirteen major academic disciplines such as philosophy, economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, management, teaching, arts and medicine, etc., which effectively supports the university's discipline construction and talent cultivation.

GXULibrary,from the building, facilities, to service functions, management mode,isbasically in line with international standards, reflecting a new concept: large open room, full open shelves, dense bookshelves and ordinary bookshelves interlaced on each floor,and incorporation ofcollection, borrowing, reading, retrievalandmanagement.It is open continuously from 7:00 to 22:30 every day, up to 108.5 hours per week.

In addition to providing regular books and periodicals lending services,theLibrary can also provideanetworkof24×7 bibliographic information query, new book notification, CD-ROM and network database retrieval, multimedia resources browsing, reference consulting, inter-library loan anddocumentdelivery, reader training and other forms of electronic information services, as well as scientific and technological research,bookchecking andsearching,finalizationservice of the selectionof topics, disciplinary services, patent literature search and analysis and otherin-depth information services.

TheLibrary has established a high-speed local network with 10,000-megabit access to the campus network, 1,000-megabit floor interconnection and 100-megabit desktop interconnection, with a total of 1,248 network nodes in the library, and computerized management of all the business work.450 computers (or terminals) in the library are connected with the campus network, CERNET（China Education and Research Network）and the Internet, so as to realize thesmoothconnection of the library automation management system with the business management system of the faculty resourceoffice.At the same time, WIFI service is provided for readers, forming a convenient distributed digital information service network. Self-service equipment such as self-service book lending and returning machines, self-service seat selection system, self-service printing and copying have also been put into use. Through the mobile library, the library WeChat publicaccountand so on to strengthen the library information service push and resource publicity, provide online reading, full text search, offline borrowing, mobile reading, download and other digital content and knowledge services.

GXULibrary actively participates in the activities of building and sharing of literature and information resources, and establishes extensive cooperation with major libraries and information centers in China. It is one of the participants in the construction of CALISHEIDissertation Database, a member library of C-level cataloging of CALIS Union Catalog Center and a second-level service center of CADAL project.It is the seat of the Secretariat ofLibrary and Information Committee ofGuangxi Zhuang Autonomous RegionUniversities and CollegesandLibrary Professional Committee of Guangxi Higher Education Association, it’s also the leading membership of CALIS Guangxi Document and Information Service Center.In 2012,theLibrary was approved as the Ministry of Education's ministerial-level scientific and technical investigationstation; in 2015,theLibrary was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit of Guangxi Ancient Books Protection"; in 2018,theLibrary was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award for the 20th Anniversary of CALIS Project Construction"; in March 2019, our Intellectual Property Information Service Center was approved to be one of the first 23 national intellectual property information service centers for colleges and universities in China.

GXULibrary adheres to the service concept of "reader-oriented, quality first, initiative, satisfaction", takes the main line of serving the school's "double first-class" construction, pushes forward the library's functional change and service transformation, accelerates the library's automation and intelligence process, carries out a variety of disciplinary services and knowledge services.Itstrives to build a high-level literature resource guarantee and service system supporting the construction of the world's first-class disciplines, so as to make the library become the school'sdocumentguarantee and sharing center, disciplinary service and intelligence center, learning and innovation experience center, and an important place and position for cultural propagation.
