Vice-Dean Liang Jiayuan of our college led a team for an inspection and exchange visittotheCollegeofHarbourand Coastal Engineering of Jimei University,XiamenFujian

On the afternoon of May 20, 2024, Liang Jiayuan(Vice-Dean of theSchool of Marine Sciences at Guangxi University),withteam visitedtheCollegeofHarbourand Coastal Engineeringof Jimei Universityfor an inspection and exchange visit,and held discussions with Huang Yunfeng(Vice-Dean), Liu Qin(Director of the Department of Environmental Engineering), Xiao Zhongyong(Director of the Department of Geographical Sciences), Zhong Xiaojing(Director of theHarbourEngineering Teaching and Research Section),Professor Lin Wuhui, Professor Zhuang Yanpei andAssoc. Prof.Shi Xiangminfrom the Department of Marine Science.

At the symposium, Vice-Dean Liang Jiayuan gave a detailed introduction to theSchool of Marine Sciences at Guangxi Universityand the main purpose of thisinvestigation.The two sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the application for theDoctoralDegree Conferring Authorityin marine science(first-level discipline),andexplore theeffective mechanisms for effective mechanisms for joint graduate training.

Huang Yunfeng, Vice-Dean of theCollegeofHarbourand Coastal Engineering of Jimei University,warmly welcomed the visiting faculty from Guangxi University and brieflyintroduced the basic situation of Jimei University.Sheintroduced the development history, disciplinedistribution,undergraduate and graduatecultivating models, and employment situation of theCollegeofHarbourand Coastal Engineering.Especially in the application for theDoctoralDegree Conferring Authority (first-level discipline),Vice-Dean Huangsharedoverall arrangements and practical practices for applicationin detail.The department heads of theCollegeofHarbourand Coastal Engineering of Jimei University attended the symposiumandintroduced the basic situation, graduate trainingplansand unique advantages of theireachdepartments.

At the symposium, Vice-Dean Liang Jiayuanon behalf of the college andDeanProfessor Yu KefuProfessor Yu Kefucondolences to Professor Lin Wuhui,conveyed to him the deepest greetings from his alma mater,andexpressed hope thathe would continue to carry forward the spirit, work hardandstaying true to founding missionin his new job.Professor Lin Wuhui expressed his sincere gratitude to Guangxi Universityand said that he would continue to pay attention to and support the development of theSchool of Marine Sciences at Guangxi University withhis own strength.

After the symposium, Professor Lin Wuhui led his former colleagues on a tour of Jimei University History Museum, college laboratories and office buildings.

Prof.Wang Liwei, Wang Guanghua, Pan Changgui, and Zuo Xiuling participated in the inspection and exchange visit.
